3 humbling truths about letting go and letting God gives 3 practical ways to let go of the baggage you've been holding on to. Comes with complete free workbook

Have you ever heard the phrase let go and let God? For those of you who have no idea what I’m writing about it means to let go of the thing/s that you are carrying and give them up to the Lord.

Giving your burden to the lord is not always easy. It requires us to look internally and think about why we are holding on to the things that we are holding onto, and for most of us looking inward is the last place we want to look. Letting go and letting God is an act of submitting and because of our human nature and culture submission goes against the grain of what most of us have been taught.

The majority of us live in a culture that teaches independence, the self-reliance that we can do what we want when we want and how we want.

Let’s examine the truths of letting go and letting God

Humbling Truth #1

You have to examine yourself and realize introspection goes against the grain

Let’s face it examining ourselves is hard. Often times we see everything, but ourselves. Isn’t it true that we can see everyone else’s situation so clearly but our own? We have the answer to what our siblings and spouse should be doing but when it comes to our very own situation we are more inclined to look in the opposite direction when it comes to change. It is here that we, by the grace of God come to realize we have to try that much harder to develop ourselves in His image.

I hear some of you asking how do I develop in His image… order your copy of The Christian Meditation Journal which will walk you through how to meditate as a Christian and draw closer to God.

Humbling Truth #2

Starting to let go of things that hold you back

What things are holding you back from living a life God wants you to live? Your past, relationships, finances, your family could be the cause. Whatever is keeping you from a life with God I encourage you to pray about it continually until you find clarity. You may find you are doing great in one area of your life and horrible in another, humble yourself before the Lord and let Him carry your load and remember what you are going through is only for a season and will ultimately make you stronger in Christ.

Humbling Truth #3

The s word

I used to be scared of the s word…

submission

especially in marriage, until I discovered through God’s word that He has called us to submit to Him. Through this act of submission, we are to let go and trust. When we submit we are telling our Heavenly Father that we want to rely on Him.

I know reliance on God is hard especially for our flesh. It takes so much strength and discipline on our part. Reliance on God is an act of growing your faith, try to take each step with God.

These three humbling acts of examining yourself, letting go of the stuff that’s holding you back and submitting to the Lord are to aide your walk with the Lord.
