The quote “Be the change you wish to see in the world” Is on bumper stickers, tee shirts and other parafanilia.
Further, the original quote was “be the change” which came from Gandhi and was reworded to “be the change you wish to see the world”.
Ok, but why is being a change so important?
Here are 5 top reasony why being the change you wish to see in the world is so important.
1. THE POWER OF ONE
Being a change in the world is so important because it statrts with you. Have you ever noticed thoughout history people have banned together.
I am always amazed how in uncertain times, people ban together to make a difference. 9-11, March on Washington and Woman’s Day are all examples of ordinary people coming together for the good of everyone.
People like Martin Luther King Jr. fought for civil rights, Oprah continues to interview people mostly shedding light on things we may have not known. Mother Theresa helped us see the importance of dignity of life and how we can respect people’s lives. Even Malala as young as she is, is a voice for education.
All these people had to figure out how to use the gifts they were given to share with the world.
The power of one person is in everyday people, like you and I. They took thier gifts and used them to educate us on how to be more loving, kind, genuine and help those that were treated unfairly.
When making any inner change we need to look inside ourselves.
2. WHERE DOES CHANGE START?
Change starts with you! Yep, Micheal Jackson had it right If you have forgotten about the biggest king of pop or need a refresher his song man in the mirror is about changing ones self “I’m looking at the man in the mirror and I’m asking him to change his ways. He even goes on to say “make that change”
Now that weve established change starts with you, think about how you treat people.
Are you genuine, loving, kind or short and fickle?
Are you there for people when they need you or do you withdraw when you are needed the most?
Ladies, look inward to get the answers you need.
As an educator (my proffession for years) we talk about “reflecting on the lesson”. This means we go back and review the lesson we just taught and ask how could it have been better? What steps should I add next time if any?
Just like a teacher reflects we need to reflect on our lives. Be honest with yourself and look inward to see the areas you may need to grow in.
Don’t get discoueged, because change doesnt happen overnight.
3. CHANGE TAKES TIME
Change doesn’t happen over night. You will need to be patient with yourself and obediant to God for real change to happen.
No one that I mentioned above honed thier craft in one day, one week or even one month. It took real time, failure and patience again and again.
The main goal with all change is to BE PERSISTANT and NEVER GIVE UP. Here is a free encouraging poem for you, just because I never want you to give up 🙂 Sign up here to recieve it
4. LIVE BY FAITH NOT BY SITE
In order for real change to occur we must seek help, there is a moral compass guiding us to do the right thing, be a better person (I choose to call my moral compass God).
There are so many avenues to help us life by faith, like pureflix a steaming TV service which promotes quality tv programs.

4. CAST YOUR CARES
I know so many people who are struggling with the day to day tasks of being a mom lead by faith while raising children, working in or out of the home and trying to find their purpose and balance in this life (which is why I created living a faithful life in the first place).
You may think… I’m way to busy to figure out how to shine my light. So ladies, cast your burden upon the Lord, and he will sustain you.
He will never allow the rightous to be shaken (Psalms 55:22). “In all ways acknowladge him and he will make your paths strait” (Proverbs 3:6).
